Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has publicly criticised media personality Roby Ekpo following a viral interview in which Roby Ekpo spoke about his failed marriage to Mayowa Lambe and alleged betrayal within the relationship.

The outspoken actor, Yul Edochie, reacted on social media platform X, where he issued a series of strongly worded posts questioning Roby Ekpo’s decisions during the marriage and challenging his perspective on relationships.

Roby Ekpo had earlier appeared on the Honest Bunch Podcast, where he claimed that Mayowa Lambe was unfaithful and deceptive, and alleged that she financially exploited him during the course of their marriage before eventually remarrying in the United States.

Responding to the comments, Yul Edochie described Roby Ekpo in dismissive terms and questioned why he allowed his then-wife to live abroad while he remained in Nigeria.

The Nollywood star argued that traditional family structures required couples to stay together, referencing what he described as practices among earlier generations.

In a particularly pointed remark, Yul Edochie stated that “weak men” are often disrespected in relationships, adding that men who publicly express emotional distress over romantic issues risk repeating similar experiences if they do not take accountability.

He also warned against men appearing on podcasts to discuss personal heartbreaks in emotional terms, describing such behaviour as inappropriate and unnecessary.
