The singer announced the upcoming appearance through his Instagram Story, reflecting on the distance he has travelled since attending the event’s first edition.

“Full circle moment because the first edition ever, I walked there,” BNXN wrote, recalling his earlier experience as an attendee before returning as the headline act.

The statement has resonated with fans, many of whom have viewed the booking as a symbolic return to a platform that formed part of the singer’s early music experiences.

Mainland Block Party has grown into a notable fixture in Lagos’ live music and youth culture scene, bringing together established performers, emerging acts and audiences for large-scale music gatherings.

Previous editions have featured artists including Tems, Ayra Starr, Joeboy, Blaqbonez and Omah Lay.

BNXN’s own rise has been shaped by hit releases and collaborations that helped establish him as one of Nigeria’s prominent contemporary voices. Formerly known as Buju, he gained wider recognition through songs such as “L’Enu”, “Mood” and “Finesse”, before releasing his debut album, Sincerely, Benson, in 2023.

With a catalogue that blends Afrobeats, Afrofusion and melodic songwriting, BNXN is expected to deliver a major set for fans gathering at the Lagos event. The performance also offers a chance for the singer to reconnect with a festival he once experienced from the audience.

The organisers have promoted the show as part of BNXN’s “Still In Charge” series, with a further Mainland Block Party event scheduled for Abuja on November 14.
