Naeto C Explains Why He Put Music Career on Hold

Naeto C shares why he paused his music career, citing family priorities and a desire for a different kind of life

Singer Naetochukwu Chikwe, popularly known as Naeto C, has explained his decision to put his music career on hold, citing a desire for a different lifestyle and family priorities.

In a recent interview on BEAT FM, Naeto C revealed that his marriage in 2012 and the birth of his first child in 2013 prompted him to reconsider continuing full-time in music.

“For different reasons, I think I wanted something different when I thought about my future and the kind of life I wanted. I got married in 2012 and had my first child in 2013. Looking back, I do not think I would get the kind of life I wanted if I continued to focus on music,” he said.

Naeto C also shared that his initial journey into music was driven by passion rather than fame. He recalled that creating music was enjoyable and fulfilling, but family commitments shifted his priorities.

“I was one of those kinds of people that got into music not because I wanted to be a musician, it’s just because I liked music so much and I was able to make songs that people liked,” he said.

The singer noted that every time he plans a return to the studio, unexpected events occur, making him question if it is the right time.

“You know the funny thing, every time I say I’m going back to the studio, something crazy will happen in my life. It’s crazy. So I’m just like, God, do you really want me to do this, maybe you don’t want me to do this,” he added.

Despite the hiatus, Naeto C acknowledged the continued admiration from fans, who often remind him of why his music was special to them.
