Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) account, Omori shared how the church provided the first stage he would ever stand on.

From drama nights to filmmaking inspiration, he credited the church as the foundation of his creative journey.

“The Church funded and advised me to pursue a career in filmmaking. The church gave me a platform to discover my acting and directing skills at drama nights when the hood or trenches had social clubs or neighbourhood theatre houses,” he wrote.

TG Omori didn’t stop at acknowledging the TG Omori church influence — he passionately defended the role of spirituality in people’s lives. In a heartfelt post, he addressed critics of religion, urging tolerance and understanding.

“Life isn’t all about making money or chasing economic power… a billion religious people can’t all be stupid. Just live and let live,” he added.

The award-winning director also emphasized that despite his fame and success, he remains unashamed of his faith.

“Jesus Christ will forever be my Lord and personal saviour, and I shall never be too cool to proclaim his goodness and mercies,” he declared.
