Habibat Jinad reveals final prayer with Temitope Osoba before her death, sharing an emotional tribute and reminder to check on loved ones
Nollywood actress Habibat Jinad has shared an emotional tribute to her late colleague Temitope Osoba, revealing that their final conversation involved an eight-minute prayer session shortly before the actress’s passing.
Jinad disclosed the touching moment on her Instagram page while mourning Osoba, whose death was announced on Wednesday, 5 August. She said the experience remained difficult to process but expressed acceptance of what she described as God’s will.
The tribute highlighted the actress’s belief that the call was a significant moment, as she explained that she felt encouraged to reach out and pray with her colleague before her death.
“I called you recently because God led me to pray for you, Tope Osoba, and we prayed over the phone for about 8 minutes,” Jinad wrote.
The actress said she was still struggling to accept Osoba’s death, adding that she could not question what had happened.
“I still can’t believe this. Who am I to question God’s will? May God forgive your sins and grant your soul eternal rest,” she added.
Jinad used the opportunity to encourage people to maintain stronger connections with family, friends and colleagues, reminding the public that a simple call or message can make a difference during difficult periods.
“This is a reminder to all of us: please always check on one another. You never truly know what someone is going through or when it may be your last chance to reach out,” she said.
The actress expressed gratitude that she responded to the urge to contact Osoba, describing the prayer session as something she would always cherish.
“I am grateful I obeyed God’s leading and did what He asked me to do for you before you left this world,” Jinad wrote.
Osoba’s death has continued to attract tributes from colleagues and fans across Nollywood, with many remembering her personality, talent and the relationships she built within the entertainment industry.
As friends and associates mourn her passing, Jinad’s message has also served as a reminder about the importance of compassion, support and checking in on people beyond moments of celebration.
