The distributor announced the milestone in an Instagram post on Monday, October 26, describing the film as the “No. 1 title for four consecutive weekends”.

In a promotional flyer accompanying the announcement, Nile Entertainment listed the film as the highest-grossing release ever in October and the highest-grossing faith-based title of all time.

The distributor also ranked it as the second-highest-grossing Nollywood film released in 2026.

“₦408.3 MILLION AND STILL MAKING HISTORY!” the company wrote.

It added, “Thank you Nigeria, this is YOUR victory!”

Nile Entertainment said the film’s cinema run was continuing, with screenings still available nationwide.

Directed by Damilola Mike-Bamiloye, ‘Agbara Nla: The Return’ is a remake of the 33-year-old Christian film classic produced by Mount Zion Film Productions.

The film was co-produced by Mount Zion Film Productions, Sozo Films and Circuits, with Nile Entertainment handling distribution.

Its international release in Europe was undertaken in partnership with IFEC.

The latest box-office figure represents an increase of ₦53.8m from the ₦354.5m previously reported by PUNCH Online following the film’s release in Nigerian cinemas on October 1.

The film also recorded an opening-weekend gross of $120,660 in selected cinemas in the United Kingdom and Canada, according to the report.

Despite its performance, ‘Agbara Nla: The Return’ remains behind ‘Call of My Life’, directed by Blessing Uzzi, which has earned more than ₦900m and ranks as the highest-grossing Nollywood title released in 2026, according to the figures cited in the report.

Nile Entertainment General Manager, Nowe Segun-Ojo, had previously attributed the company’s performance to its distribution strategy since it began operations in August 2024.
