Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus has publicly apologised to her colleague and former associate, Laide Bakare, following backlash over her reaction during a recent podcast interview.

Badmus issued the apology on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, after her response when Bakare’s name was mentioned on the Curiosity Made Me Asked podcast attracted criticism on social media.

The two actresses have previously had differences, but Badmus said she had reflected on the incident and acknowledged that her reaction could have been perceived as dismissive.

In a series of posts on Instagram, the actress accepted responsibility for her conduct and appealed for peace between herself and Bakare.

“On reflection, I realise my reaction when Laide Bakare’s name was mentioned during my recent interview could have come across as dismissive, and for that, I sincerely apologise,” Badmus wrote.

Addressing Bakare directly, she added, “Laide, whatever our differences, I choose peace and I genuinely wish you well.”

Badmus also appealed to her colleague not to take offence, urging both sides to move beyond their differences.

“Joo maa binu (please don’t be offended), no negativity. No grudges. Let love lead and peace reigns,” she added.

The apology followed a wave of reactions online after clips from the podcast circulated on social media, with some viewers criticising Badmus over her apparent reaction to Bakare’s name.

Rather than prolong the controversy, Badmus’ latest comments have shifted the focus towards reconciliation, as she publicly acknowledged the incident and expressed a desire to end hostility between the two actresses.

The development has also drawn attention to the often public nature of disagreements within Nigeria’s entertainment industry, where comments made during interviews can quickly generate reactions across social media.
