VeryDarkMan lawyer disagreement trends after Deji Adeyanju’s risk warning sparks backlash and disappointment from social critic in viral Instagram response

Popular Nigerian social critic, VeryDarkMan, has criticised his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, over comments advising him to avoid unnecessary risks. The disagreement began after Adeyanju posted on X, warning that Nigerians quickly forget people, no matter how vocal they are.

“I call VDM every time to be careful and stop taking unnecessary risks but he doesn’t listen most of the time. If anything happens to you today, everyone has moved on by tomorrow,” Adeyanju wrote.

The post sparked speculation about a rift between the two, which was confirmed when VeryDarkMan responded on Instagram with visible disappointment.

“First thing first, I’m really disappointed in my lawyer, Deji Adeyanju. I’m so disappointed in you for this post especially because you are a comrade,” he said.

Calling the remark cowardly, he added, “Anybody wey open his mouth talk that thing is a coward.”

He argued that life moves on regardless of who dies, from religious leaders to political figures. “Jesus Christ died, the world moved on. Catholic Pope died, the world moved on and a new Pope was installed,” he said.

VeryDarkMan insisted he won’t be silenced by fear, stating that even people who avoid risks can still become victims. “You add so much importance to your life when you are nothing,” he added.
