Nollywood actress Biodun Okeowo, popularly known as Omoborty, has shared a heartfelt message urging people to set boundaries when offering help to others, especially when it comes at personal cost.

In a recent Instagram post, the actress recounted a conversation with a colleague who was overwhelmed by over 560 requests for help in his DMs.
This encounter prompted Okeowo to reflect on her own experience of **frequently giving from her personal funds to assist others.
“Help, but not at your own detriment,” she wrote.
“If you respond to every touching story, one day you’ll become one too. And sadly, the same people clapping now will ask, ‘What did you even do with your money?’”

Okeowo emphasized the pressure people feel from emotional appeals and warned against being guilt-tripped into over-giving.
While acknowledging that the need is real, she also cautioned about fake stories and manipulation.
She encouraged her followers to prioritize their personal responsibilities** and not feel ashamed for setting financial and emotional limits.
“Everyone has their own struggles. Don’t let anyone make you feel bad for not being able to help,” she said.
