Nigerian music star Ayra Starr has revealed a heartwarming moment with global pop icon Rihanna, who described her as one of her favourite artistes.

Speaking in a recent interview with ETalk TV, the Rush singer said she was overwhelmed during their first meeting and still struggles to believe it happened. “To be honest, it still feels like a dream,” she said.

Describing Rihanna as “an amazing artist, an amazing woman, an amazing person in general,” Ayra Starr said the moment left a lasting impression.

“People always say, ‘never meet your idols’, but I’m so glad I met mine. The fact that she loves my music — I’m my favourite artist’s favourite artist,” she added.

The Mavin Records talent admitted to feeling anxious around the Fenty Beauty founder and often resorts to awkward humour to mask her nerves. “I usually don’t know what to do with myself,” she said.
