Odumodublvck rap legacy has taken centre stage again as the Nigerian rapper passionately defended his lyrical prowess and discography in a fiery new interview, declaring that his body of work has changed the narrative of hip-hop in the country.

The artist, born Tochukwu Ojogwu, dismissed claims that he lacks lyrical substance, pointing to his acclaimed 2023 mixtape Eziokwu as proof of his dominance.

He declared that Eziokwu produced more hit singles than any other Nigerian hip-hop project, with tracks like Woto-Woto Seasoning, Blood on the Dance Floor, and Dog Eat Dog topping charts and resonating with fans nationwide.

“There is no hip-hop album in the history of Nigerian music that has as many hit records as Eziokwu. I put my money on the line,” he said.

Now riding high on the release of his second studio album, Industry Machine, Odumodublvck is showing no signs of slowing down.

The 23-track album, released on 6 October, features collaborations with top names such as Wizkid, Davido, Stormzy, Falz, and Vector. Already, songs like Juju and Pity This Boy have reached number one on multiple charts.

In his characteristically raw and impassioned tone, Odumodublvck doubled down on his place in the genre, slamming what he calls “fallacies” spread about his talent.

“Every day. ‘Odumodu cannot rap.’ What the fck are these guys saying? We buried every fcking fallacy,” he said during the interview.

He also addressed the broader scepticism towards Nigerian hip-hop, arguing that he’s one of the few pushing its boundaries while others “keep playing that same baby music.”

“Who is really rapping? Who is here, niggas? I’m a man. I know verse,” he added.

Odumodublvck’s defence of his rap legacy comes after months of online chatter about whether his fame stems more from energy than lyricism. However, his strong catalogue and loyal fan base continue to support his rise.
