In a candid conversation on the Honest Bunch podcast, the renowned choreographer recounted a deeply traumatic incident from her teenage years.

At just 13, she said her mother — a divorced single parent at the time — wrongly accused her of being inappropriately close to one of the men she was dating.

Kaffy revealed that the misunderstanding escalated into humiliation and violence. “I was stripped naked in front of that man in the living room and flogged,” she recalled.

The man, she explained, was only someone she had addressed as daddy after trying to help him when he cut himself while shaving.

Reflecting on the experience, Kaffy admitted the moment left a permanent scar on her mind. “That had its own traumatising effect. You begin to ask yourself, ‘Why would my mother think that of me, her daughter?’ It transfers insecurity from mother to child,” she explained.

The dancer, often celebrated for her energy and resilience on stage, stressed that even successful people can carry hidden wounds from childhood.

Her story highlights the silent battles many endure behind closed doors, raising awareness about emotional scars within family dynamics.
