Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Iyanya, has released a heartfelt tribute to honour the victims of the recent herdsmen attacks in Benue State, where over 200 people were reportedly killed in Yelewata, Guma Local Government Area.

Taking to social media platform X, Iyanya shared a sombre video of his new song dedicated to the grieving people of Benue.

The singer offered his condolences to the families affected by the massacre and called for divine intervention in the state’s ongoing crisis.

“We are praying for the people of Benue,” Iyanya wrote, alongside the video. In the song, he urged those mourning their loved ones to remain steadfast in faith, expressing hope that their pain would one day be transformed into joy.

“I want to dedicate this song to all people of Benue State,” he said in the emotional clip. “It’s a trying time for the whole country because we all share your pain. I pray God comforts everybody who lost a friend or brother, mother, father, family member. God will intervene.”

The tragedy in Yelewata has drawn widespread outrage and national concern, with many calling for stronger security measures and justice for the victims.
