BBNaija Season 11 prize twist puts the N100 million grand prize at risk as Big Brother unveils new rules and 16 housemates face eviction
Big Brother, the host of Big Brother Naija Season 11, has unveiled a dramatic BBNaija Season 11 prize twist, announcing that the show’s advertised N100 million grand prize will no longer be guaranteed after introducing a performance-based reward system that places the entire house under weekly pressure.
Under the new format, the value of the grand prize will depend on the housemates’ collective performance in weekly tasks.
Every successful challenge will preserve the prize fund, while each failed task will trigger a N5 million deduction.
Big Brother also revealed that deducted funds will not disappear.
Instead, the money will be accumulated and shared equally among the contestants eventually voted by their peers as the season’s Most Influential housemates, adding a powerful new incentive to the competition.
The revised reward structure is accompanied by the return of the Most Influential Player of the Week ranking.
Housemates will score one another on a scale of one to five each week, with the cumulative ratings helping to determine the final recipients of the redistributed prize money.
Another major change came with the introduction of Conspiracy Hour, a new strategic gameplay feature aimed at encouraging alliances.
During the exercise, contestants enter the Conspiracy Zone individually and may invite fellow housemates for a one-minute strategy discussion.
However, Big Brother warned that any participant who reveals conversations held inside the zone outside the designated area faces severe sanctions for breaking house rules.
Earlier on Monday, Sheba emerged as the new Head of House after winning the week’s challenge.
The victory secured immunity from eviction and handed Sheba an influential role during nominations.
Big Brother also abandoned the traditional nomination process, directing housemates to vote to save three contestants instead of nominating fellow housemates for eviction. The initial round left Tram, Barry, Cassi, Goddessa and Bells in safe positions.
Exercising the exclusive Head of House privilege, Sheba revoked Cassi’s immunity and transferred the protection to Chimsom Chuka, creating another unexpected moment in the competition.
Meanwhile, Flora and Aikou, who hold this season’s special Gambits status, retained automatic immunity from eviction.
Following the night’s developments, 16 housemates were placed on the eviction list. They are Abi, Araga, Bluethopia, Cassi, Gerard, Kamsy, Keivo, Martins, Mercedes, Nomy, Neche, Oyin, Ricky, Sultex, Temi Nkem and Yusuf.
Voting has opened and will close at 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, with viewers able to cast votes through the MyDStv App, MyGOtv App and the official Africa Magic website.
The latest prize twist marks one of the most significant format changes in the show’s history.
Previous editions featured fixed grand prizes, but the new system ties the winner’s reward directly to the collective performance and strategic decisions of the housemates, raising the stakes for every task and alliance throughout the season.
