VDM Reacts as Zlatan’s ‘INFERNO’ Tops Apple Music Chart

VDM took to his Instagram story to comment on the song’s chart performance, making sarcastic remarks about its lyrics and suggesting that the controversy surrounding him had contributed to its popularity.

In his lengthy post, the activist referenced his leaked video, alleging that some of the song’s lyrics were inspired by the incident.

He also mocked listeners, suggesting that they would think about the controversy while streaming the track.

VDM wrote:

“The song don reach top 1 for Apple, never knew a song about Vincent m@stvrbating will be streamed this much…”

He further claimed that Zlatan had watched his leaked video before incorporating references to him into the song.

The activist also expressed satisfaction with the track’s chart performance, saying he would be disappointed if it failed to remain at the top of Apple Music Nigeria for a month.

The disagreement between both personalities reportedly dates back to the controversy surrounding the death of singer Mohbad.

At the time, VDM publicly called on Zlatan and other prominent figures in the Nigerian music industry to speak about the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death.

Their tension appeared to intensify after Zlatan released INFERNO, featuring Peruzzi and Shoday.

One of the song’s lyrics, “I no be Vincent, I no fit [expletive],” was widely interpreted by listeners as a reference to VDM, whose first name is Vincent.

VDM had also criticised Zlatan in an earlier social media post, mocking the rapper over his lavish wedding ceremony, which he alleged was used to promote an album that failed to achieve the expected success.

He said, “Person wey do a whole wedding because he won promote him album, album no blow, wedding no blow.”

The activist subsequently challenged Zlatan’s song to maintain the number one position on Apple Music Nigeria for an entire month, while describing the publicity surrounding it as forced promotion.

Meanwhile, INFERNO has attracted attention on digital music platforms, reportedly reaching the top position on the Apple Music Nigeria Top Songs chart and the Nigerian iTunes chart. It also reportedly climbed to number one in Sierra Leone.
