Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has shared a heartwarming experience with her colleague, Wumi Toriola, during the filming of her latest movie, The Four.

Akindele recounted the experience while speaking at the film’s premiere on Thursday, October 29, 2026, describing how Toriola showed her kindness despite being exhausted and feeling unwell after a demanding night shoot.

According to the filmmaker, the cast and crew had spent considerable time filming a party-crashing scene when Toriola began struggling with exhaustion.

Recalling the moment, Akindele said Toriola approached her and complained about how tired she was.

“Wumi Toriola was so tired, sick, and she was like, ‘Auntie, I am tired,’” she said.

Akindele explained that she was also dealing with personal frustrations that evening and was not in a cheerful mood. She eventually opened up to Toriola in Yoruba, telling her that something was bothering her.

However, what happened the following morning left a lasting impression on the filmmaker.

Despite having endured the same demanding filming schedule, Toriola noticed that Akindele was not in a good mood and approached her to find out what was wrong.

She also encouraged her colleague to smile, a gesture Akindele recalled with appreciation.

Meanwhile, Toriola used the premiere to speak about her role in The Four, assuring fans that the movie would reveal different sides of her acting abilities.

The actress urged viewers not to restrict her to the familiar comic roles often associated with her, particularly characters portrayed as outspoken or unconventional.

“A lot of you will be like, oh, that razz girl. You must say nothing. I’m about to unfold other sides of me,” she said.

Toriola also expressed appreciation to FilmOne Cinema and movie lovers for their continued support.
