Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemate Chimsom has emerged as the show’s first Head of House (HOH) after defeating 23 fellow contestants in a demanding four-stage challenge, securing the coveted leadership position during the opening week of the reality television competition.

The contest tested the speed, focus and endurance of all 24 housemates, who were tasked with locating and retrieving four differently coloured stones from multiple stations, including the “Desert” and “Greenland”, in the shortest possible time.

Chimsom completed the challenge in an impressive two minutes and eight seconds, finishing ahead of every other contestant to claim the season’s first Head of House title.

Following the victory, Chimsom exercised the privilege of selecting Abi as the Deputy Head of House, giving the pair leadership responsibilities for the week.

However, the Head of House victory came with an unexpected twist.

In a departure from previous editions of the show, Big Brother announced that neither Chimsom nor Abi would occupy the exclusive Head of House lounge.

Instead, Chimsom was instructed to draw the name of a housemate from a box, with the selected contestant earning the right to stay in the luxury lounge and nominate another housemate to share the space.

The draw produced Tram, who subsequently chose Sheba to join him in the exclusive accommodation, adding an early surprise to the new season and reshaping the traditional Head of House reward.

The unexpected development quickly became one of the night’s standout moments, highlighting the organisers’ intention to introduce fresh twists and unpredictable gameplay in Season 11.

The Head of House challenge traditionally plays a pivotal role in the Big Brother Naija format, often granting immunity from eviction and significant influence over house activities.

While the leadership responsibilities remain with Chimsom and Abi, the revised lounge arrangement signals that viewers and contestants can expect more strategic changes throughout the season.
