The criticism stemmed from accusations that her lifestyle is funded by church offerings.

Reacting to the claims, Destiny Paul Enenche clarified that the designer bag in question was a gift—like the majority of her clothing and accessories.

“The bag was a gift. Ninety-nine per cent of what we wear are gifts, and they are not from church members,” she explained.

In her response, she emphasized that her family’s affluence is not rooted in church finances.

According to Destiny Paul Enenche, both of her parents are established medical doctors who have earned their wealth independently of their pastoral roles.

“My parents are medical doctors. They don’t depend on offering money,” she stated firmly.

The comment comes amid ongoing scrutiny of prominent pastors and their families in Nigeria, especially when they display signs of wealth.

Her statement has reignited debates about transparency, modesty, and the expectations placed on religious leaders and their children.
