Entertainment Week Africa 2025 announces bold expansion in Lagos, uniting creators, investors, and industries to close Africa’s creative economy gap
Entertainment Week Africa 2025 has been officially unveiled, with organisers confirming a six-day celebration of Africa’s creative industries from 18–23 November in Lagos, Nigeria.
What began in 2022 as Entertainment Week Lagos has quickly evolved into a continental platform, maturing into a trusted meeting point for creators, investors, policymakers and business leaders across music, film, fashion, technology and live production.
The transformation into Entertainment Week Africa signals a bold expansion, positioning the gathering as a marketplace for ideas, capital and collaborations that will shape the continent’s creative future.
At its core, the 2025 edition is about closing the gaps that continue to limit Africa’s creative economy—bridging divides between talent and opportunity, innovation and infrastructure, and creativity and capital.
The creative sector remains one of Africa’s fastest-growing industries, with potential to contribute billions to GDP and provide millions of jobs for young people. Yet, barriers persist.
Entertainment Week Africa 2025 is designed not only as a showcase but as a development platform, offering young creatives mentorship, skills development, and access to funding opportunities. For investors, it serves as a curated gateway into some of the most vibrant industries on the continent.
Since inception, the platform has built a solid reputation. It has hosted influential voices in entertainment, media and policy, created visibility for emerging talents, driven partnerships between African creators and global players, and nurtured an ecosystem where culture meets commerce.
Its growing legacy has cemented its place as a launchpad for talent discovery, investment and cross-industry collaboration.
The theme for 2025, Close the Gap, highlights the urgent need to overcome divides between local talent and global platforms. By bringing together leaders from across Africa and the diaspora, the event seeks to convert creativity into sustainable economic growth.
With flagship experiences such as the Content Festival, Music Festival, Fashion Festival, AI and Tech Expo, Live Production Expo and a Creative Job Fair, the November gathering promises to deliver both inspiration and opportunity.
Scheduled for 18–23 November 2025 in Lagos under the theme Close the Gap, Entertainment Week Africa remains true to its founding vision—born in Lagos, built for Africa, and designed for global relevance. As the continent’s premier gathering for the creative economy, it is committed to driving economic development, cultural influence and youth empowerment.
