RMD Reveals Why He Gives His Wife His Biggest Gifts

RMD gives wife biggest gifts as the Nollywood actor explains why he chooses to honour his partner with his most valuable possessions

Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD, has revealed why he chooses to give his wife some of the biggest gifts he owns, describing generosity as an important part of their marriage.

The veteran actor shared details about his relationship during an appearance on The Morayo Show, where he spoke about his wife’s love language and the value he places on making her feel appreciated.

RMD explained that his wife’s appreciation of thoughtful gifts motivates him to go beyond traditional gestures, noting that he enjoys seeing her acknowledge the effort behind the things he gives her.

“These days, it’s never about flowers and chocolates anymore. Ladies like money,” RMD said, adding that his wife values gifts as an expression of love.

The actor recalled a defining moment early in his career when he received his biggest cheque at the time, worth about ₦100 million. Rather than keeping the money, he instructed his manager to hand it over to his wife.

“When she got it, she was like, ‘You want me to keep it for your children?’ I said, ‘No, keep it for yourself,’” he said.

RMD admitted that much of the money would eventually benefit their children, but his intention was to make his wife feel valued and recognised.

“I know that 90 per cent of that will end up on my children, but for me, I like to gift my wife with the biggest things I have so that way, she never has to ask for anything,” he added.

The actor, who has enjoyed a long career in Nigerian entertainment, has previously spoken about marriage, family and ageing, often highlighting the importance of gratitude and companionship.
