In a now-viral video, controversial street-hop singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, bluntly stated that he is open to endorsing any political party or candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections — as long as they offer him money.

“Anybody wey give me money na who I go follow. If APC brings money first, APC owns me. If PDP brings money first, I will collect. Even if na Peter Obi pay first, I go tell my fans to vote for him,” Portable said.

The singer began his video by asking fans if they had collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) before pivoting to the shocking admission. He insisted that hunger and survival take precedence over political loyalty.

“Vote for anybody wey you like, vote for your helper, vote for who give you money,” he added.

The Portable Endorses Politicians for Money remark has drawn heavy backlash from both fans and political commentators, many of whom accused the singer of promoting vote-selling and undermining Nigeria’s democratic process.

While Portable has often courted controversy — from public spats with fellow artists to his unfiltered social media rants — this latest statement appears to have hit a nerve in a country still grappling with political apathy, corruption, and youth disenfranchisement.
