Nkubi’s Wife Alleges Inappropriate Medical Suggestion

Nkubi wife doctor remark sparks concern after she alleged a doctor advised her to conceive with another man during pregnancy scan

The wife of Nigerian media personality Victor Udochukwu Nwaogu, popularly known as Nkubi, has alleged that a doctor advised her to conceive a child with another man after reviewing her pregnancy scan, describing the encounter as deeply troubling.

Speaking in a video shared by Pulse Nigeria on Instagram on Wednesday, the media personality’s wife recounted that the alleged comment was made during an abnormality scan appointment.

According to her account, the doctor asked whether there was any history of dwarfism in her family.

After she explained that her husband has dwarfism, she claimed the doctor suggested she should have considered becoming pregnant by someone else or using a sperm donor.

“When I did my abnormality scan and I handed it to the doctor, the doctor was like, ‘Oh, why didn’t you, does anyone have any trait of dwarfism in your family?’ I said yes. I told him ‘my husband’, so the doctor said, ‘Why didn’t you go to your brother-in-law or go outside to get pregnant instead of getting pregnant for your husband or even got a sperm donor? Yes, that is what a doctor told me,’” she said in the video.

She described the alleged remark as shocking and said it reflected what she viewed as unequal treatment.

“Wow. Yes, they’re not giving equal rights in this country at all,” she added.

The Nkubi wife doctor remark has since drawn attention on social media, with many users expressing concern about professional standards and sensitivity in maternal healthcare.

In the same account, she also alleged that a nurse traumatised her during postnatal care.

She claimed the nurse described her child’s condition as spiritual and attempted to introduce her to a pastor for prayers.

“That nurse traumatised me throughout my stay after care, after birth care. The woman told me that this is spiritual and that she has a pastor who can pray for my child so she can live,” she said.

Victor Udochukwu Nwaogu responded to the claims in the video, stating that dwarfism is not linked to religion and cautioning against ridicule of people living with the condition.

“But it has nothing to do with religion. Anybody can give birth to a little person. You might have all the fun you want today by saying, ‘Look at them, they are short,’ but it could hit you tomorrow,” Victor Udochukwu Nwaogu said.
