Madonna Gaza Appeal Sparks Emotional Plea To Pope Leo XIV

Madonna Gaza Appeal calls on Pope Leo XIV to intervene in the worsening Gaza crisis, urging humanitarian aid access amid rising child starvation

Madonna Gaza Appeal took center stage on Monday night as the global pop icon made a heartfelt and urgent plea to Pope Leo XIV, urging him to visit the blockaded Gaza Strip amid a deepening child starvation crisis.

“You are the only one of us that cannot be denied entry,” the U.S. singer wrote in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

“We need the humanitarian gates to be fully opened to save these innocent children. There is no more time.”

Marking her son Rocco Ritchies 25th birthday, Madonna linked the celebration to a deeper call for global responsibility.

“I feel the best gift I can give to him as a mother is to ask everyone to do what they can to help save the innocent children caught in the crossfire in Gaza,” she said, announcing plans to donate to humanitarian organisations working on the ground.

The emotional Madonna Gaza Appeal comes amid damning reports from the United Nations, which confirmed last week that acute malnutritio among Gaza’s children has reached its highest levels yet.

According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), nearly 12,000 children under five were diagnosed with acute malnutrition in July alone, with over 2,500 suffering from its most severe form one described as immediately life-threatening.

Access to Gaza remains tightly controlled by Israel, which had severely limited aid entry between March and May.

More recently, under international pressure, Israel has allowed some larger convoys in while aid airdrops continue overhead.

However, critics argue these measures are far from sufficient.

In a similar show of solidarity, Irish rock band U2 added their voice to the growing condemnation. Lead singer Bono called out both Hamas and Israel for using starvation as a weapon.

“We know Hamas are using starvation as a weapon in the war, but now so too is Israel, and I feel revulsion for the moral failure,” he said.
