Peller’s Tax Dispute Sparks Outcry Over ₦18 Million Bill from LIRS

Peller Tax Dispute has become a trending topic after popular Nigerian TikToker Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as Peller, took to social media to express his frustration with the Lagos State Inland Revenue Service (LIRS).

In a now-viral video, Peller revealed he was hit with an ₦18 million tax bill a figure he described as completely disconnected from his actual earnings.

“Government, please pity me. I don’t have anything, I’m just managing,” he said emotionally.

“How can you tell me to pay such a huge tax? Do you want to kill me?”

The content creator believes the inflated tax bill may have been influenced by a viral rumour claiming he paid fellow TikTok star Gehgeh ₦25 million to appear on a livestream. Peller has strongly denied the claim.

“Please don’t listen to him. I didn’t pay such an amount,” he clarified in a follow-up video.

“My fans contributed to cover studio costs. The most I get from brand partnerships is ₦200k or ₦500k.”

Peller argued that misleading assumptions about his income have painted a false financial picture, possibly triggering the large tax demand from LIRS.
