M.I Abaga Yahoo Yahoo claim stirs debate as he alleges most Nigerian music funding comes from fraud and Western sources

M.I Abaga Yahoo Yahoo Claim has sparked serious conversation after veteran rapper Jude Abaga, popularly known as M.I, alleged that Nigeria’s music industry is largely funded by internet fraud and foreign money.

Speaking on the So Nigerian podcast, M.I described the situation as an indictment on Nigeria, highlighting the lack of institutional support for creative talent.

“A lot of artists rely on Yahoo Yahoo money. That’s the reality,” he said.

“It shows that something is wrong with our system. Most of the real funding comes from the West or fraudsters.”

The rapper urged wealthy Nigerians to invest in the entertainment sector, noting that most current support comes from young people helping each other.
