Godwin Nnadiekwe says late Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo had prepared his will before his reported death after cancer battle

Nollywood actor Godwin Nnadiekwe has shared an emotional revelation about late colleague Alex Ekubo, stating that the actor had already prepared his will before his reported death.

Reports emerged on Tuesday that Alex Ekubo died on Monday, May 11, after battling cancer. The actor was said to be 41 years old.

Reacting to the heartbreaking development, Godwin Nnadiekwe disclosed that he was struggling to come to terms with the devastating loss.

The actor described Alex Ekubo as a “rare soul” whose death had left the Nollywood industry in deep pain.

“I’m struggling to find the words. This news has truly broken me,” Godwin Nnadiekwe wrote.

“Nollywood has lost a rare soul, and I’m at a loss for words because this wasn’t the plan.

“Alex Ekubo, to think you already prepared your will. It’s a heartbreak I can’t quite describe. Rest well, my friend.

“Goodnight Alex. Cancer, you did this one”.

The emotional tribute has sparked reactions online, with many fans expressing shock over the revelation that the actor allegedly made preparations before his death.

Media personality Do2dtun also reflected on his last conversation with Alex Ekubo.

According to the OAP, he spoke with the actor on May 27 last year during a 33-minute video call.

Do2dtun said he reached out because it was obvious the actor had withdrawn from public space and social activities.

The broadcaster disclosed that Alex Ekubo appeared happy, bubbly and mentally at peace during their conversation. He added that the actor told him he wanted to take a break from everything.

Actress Funke Akindele also paid tribute to the late actor, revealing that she had attempted to contact him one more time.

Funke Akindele said she believed Alex Ekubo “knew the best” and prayed for his soul to rest peacefully while promising to cherish their memories together.
