DJ Neptune laments the persistent sidelining of veteran artistes once they attain a certain level of success.

Speaking in a new interview with Hip TV, DJ Neptune said the industry had developed a habit of pushing long-standing creatives to the margins instead of allowing them to thrive alongside emerging acts.

He contrasted this with Western music markets, where established performers often maintain influence for decades.

According to the producer, the pattern in Nigeria is both damaging and unnecessary, as it limits continuity and erases the contributions of entertainers who helped shape the industry.

He said the issue had become so entrenched that many experienced artistes were routinely told to “go to that corner” once newer talents emerged.

Reflecting on his own career longevity, DJ Neptune attributed his sustained relevance to constant reinvention. He explained that adapting to change had become essential for survival in an increasingly competitive environment.

He added that while he did not intend to remain in the industry indefinitely, he remained committed to evolving with the times.
