Odumodublvck criticizes Nigeria’s centralized political system and encourages Black Americans to move beyond a victim mentality.
Rapper Odumodublvck has shared his thoughts on Nigeria’s political system and the struggles of Black people in America in a recent interview with BET.
He criticized Nigerians’ tendency to blame the President for all national issues, ignoring the roles of local government officials, councillors, and senators.
“You have a local government, you have your councillor, you have your senator, the guys that are directly in charge of you, but when anything happens, they say ‘ah, Tinubu’. You’re a small fish to the president,” he said.
Odumodublvck warned that concentrating political power in one individual makes a system vulnerable to manipulation and corruption, even if the person in charge has good intentions.
He explained that threats or coercion could compromise leaders, limiting their ability to serve the public effectively.
“If he’s a good man, they can take away your liberty by threatening him… Even if he wants to help the people, he doesn’t have a choice,” he added.
On the struggles of Black people in America, Odumodublvck urged the community to move beyond a victim mentality and seize opportunities. While acknowledging historical suffering, he highlighted progress, including Black-owned businesses, leadership achievements, and success in sports.
“America is now a better place for Black people… now is the time to fly,” he said.
He also compared the experiences of Black people in America to those in Africa, noting that Africans have historically endured more severe hardships, often at the hands of their own communities.
