AAUA lecturers kidnapping case sees Ondo police arrest three suspects after victims were freed following ransom payment

AAUA lecturers kidnapping suspects have been arrested by the Ondo State Police Command following the abduction of two lecturers from Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko.

The victims were kidnapped on Monday, August 4, at their residence in Supare Akoko, Akoko South West Local Government Area.

They were held in captivity for six days before being released on Sunday, August 10, after an undisclosed ransom was paid.

Police spokesperson DSP Olushola Ayanlade confirmed the arrests in a statement on Monday, saying, “Our operatives have apprehended three suspects linked to the kidnapping of the two AAUA lecturers. They are currently undergoing profiling and interrogation.”

State Commissioner of Police Adebowale Lawal has directed that the suspects and all recovered exhibits be handed over to the Anti-Kidnapping Squad for further discreet investigation.

The Ondo State Police Command reiterated its commitment to combating kidnapping and other security threats across the state, assuring residents of continued efforts to improve public safety.
