The artist took to his X page following a wave of negative comments, with some accusing him of producing “monotonous” music.

Young John urged detractors who do not enjoy his sound to simply move on rather than undermine his years of effort.

“If you’re not a fan of my work, leave it at that! Don’t come here and water down my years of hard work!” he wrote.

Young John began his music career over a decade ago and rose to prominence in 2010 as one of Nigeria’s most influential producers.

He gained widespread recognition during his tenure with Olamide’s YBNL, producing several hit tracks.

In 2022, he transitioned fully into singing after signing with Chocolate City, releasing the hit single Dada, which later received additional acclaim with a remix featuring Davido.
