Uche Nnaji resignation has sent ripples through the political space after the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology stepped down from President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet amid allegations of certificate forgery.

Nnaji, who was appointed in August 2023, tendered his resignation on Tuesday in a letter addressed to the President.

In the letter, he expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and maintained that he had become a target of political blackmail by opponents seeking to damage his reputation.

While Nnaji did not directly address the substance of the forgery allegations, his decision to resign is being viewed as an attempt to protect the administration’s integrity and avoid unnecessary distractions.

President Tinubu, in a brief statement, thanked the outgoing minister for his service and wished him well in his future endeavours.

The resignation marks the first major exit from the Tinubu cabinet since it was formed, adding pressure on the administration to ensure transparency and accountability in public office.
