Ubi Franklin No Pregnancy Rule is making headlines after the Nigerian music executive revealed why his female artistes are contractually restricted from getting pregnant.

Speaking on the Culture Sonic podcast, Franklin, who owns Made Men Music Group (Triple MG), said pregnancy often disrupts the momentum of a budding music career.

“Just imagine investing in a female artiste and she gets pregnant. That’s over. It takes a lot for her to come back,” he said.

I’m not saying they can’t have children, but first build a strong career.

Franklin admitted to including a no pregnancy clause in contracts with female artistes, arguing that the music industry is unforgiving to women who take breaks for motherhood, especially early in their careers.

“I’m not saying they can’t have children, but first build a strong career,” he added.
