In a blunt and passionate Instagram story, the P-Square star questioned the rising trend of lighting up marijuana before songs even start in music videos.

“Dear new acts, abeg, who tell una say una must smoke Igbo for camera during visuals?” Rudeboy wrote. “20 seconds into the video, una don dey light up.”

The veteran artist didn’t hold back, warning that such behavior sends a misleading and unhealthy message to fans. He emphasized that while smoking may be a personal choice, publicizing it on screen distorts reality for impressionable viewers.

“You’re looking sick,” he continued. “You dey smoke around ₦50k but dey battle Indomie of ₦1k without egg. Under pressure.”

Rudeboy’s comments struck a nerve within the entertainment community, especially as more artists blur the lines between authenticity and harmful performative trends.

He urged upcoming talents to prioritize their health and stop promoting what he described as “fake swag” for online validation.
