Ezeonu voiced her concerns in a video shared on her social media page, where she urged Nigerians to pay closer attention to the products they purchase and bring into their homes.

The actress expressed particular concern about the possible health consequences of counterfeit medicines and other products, saying families and children could be exposed to serious dangers when fake goods enter the market.

She said the situation was troubling, particularly amid reports of young people experiencing severe health problems.

“I don’t understand what’s happening in this country anymore. When you go to hospitals, you see young people dying with kidney problems, liver problems, because everything is fake!” Ezeonu said.

The veteran actress called on consumers to exercise greater caution when buying medicines, baby food and other products used by their families.

Her warning comes amid wider concerns about the circulation of substandard and counterfeit consumer products, which can be difficult for unsuspecting buyers to distinguish from genuine goods.

Ezeonu stressed the importance of paying closer attention to what Nigerians purchase and consume, particularly products that directly affect the health and wellbeing of children and other vulnerable members of the family.
