Mercy Eke reveals she is ready for motherhood, saying she can raise children independently even without being married

Nigerian reality TV star and media personality Mercy Eke has declared her readiness to become a mother, with or without being married.

The announcement was made during an interview, where Eke explained she feels capable of raising herself and three children independently if she chooses.

The former Big Brother Naija winner stated that marriage is not currently on her agenda, as she has yet to meet the right partner for lifelong commitment.

“I’m ready to have a child outside marriage. This year I wanted to have a baby, something happened and I had to choose between that and the baby. At this point, I think if I get pregnant now, I’m just going to have my baby,” she said.

Eke emphasised her independence and goal-oriented mindset, asserting that the social stigma around having children outside marriage applies mostly to those struggling financially or personally.

“I have worked so hard, and I think I can take care of myself and three kids. I’m a goal-oriented person that always sets things ahead for myself,” she added.

The reality star also highlighted that having a child outside marriage would not prevent her from finding the right partner in the future, noting that her decision is guided by personal readiness and long-term planning.
