Kiddwaya defends his ‘Detty December’ post amid Benue backlash, urging citizens to hold leaders accountable instead of attacking public figures

The entrepreneur shared his excitement on X, writing, “This might be the best detty December ever.” The post drew backlash from some users who felt it was insensitive given recent security challenges in the region.

In response, Kiddwaya refused to apologise or remove his post. He argued that citizens should focus on holding their leaders accountable rather than criticising public figures for expressing personal sentiments.

“Let me make this absolutely clear. IM NOT APOLOGISING FOR NOTHING!! You keyboard idiots will be worshipping politicians… Why don’t you grow some balls and start holding them accountable. The only thing most of you can do is insult people like me and make stupid jokes,” he wrote in a fiery post.

Kiddwaya also expressed confidence in his public influence, asserting that he could run for governor and still win, underscoring his frustration with the disconnect he sees between citizens and political leaders.
