Kerosene Level turns personal pain into purpose, using music as therapy and creative expression while shaping a unique sound inspired by Burna Boy and J. Cole.

Emerging Nigerian artist Kerosene Level is carving a name for himself by turning personal pain into art, using music as both therapy and purpose. What began as an emotional outlet has evolved into a mission that’s resonating with a growing fan base.

Speaking about his journey, Kerosene Level revealed that his entry into music came from a need for release rather than ambition.

“It started as a means of release for me,” he said. “I was at a point in my life where I needed to start journaling to stay sane. But writing detailed entries felt boring — putting my thoughts into songs worked better.”

What began as self-expression soon became passion. “Doing something that makes me happy and gives me a sense of purpose keeps me going,” he added, describing music as his path to **healing and fulfilment.

On his creative process, the singer thrives on spontaneity and raw emotion.

“I believe the best sounds are made on the spot, unplanned,” he explained. “I prefer getting in the studio, vibing to a beat, and seeing what happens.”

Despite his rising profile, the journey has had its obstacles — from finding the right producer to fighting perfectionism.

“You’ll always feel like a song can be better,” he admitted. “If you let that mindset take over, you might never release anything. You have to know when to stop tweaking and just let the music live.”

Kerosene Level values collaboration as a core part of his artistry.

“To make music is to collaborate. God knows I need my producer! I’ve worked with other artists too — sometimes writing, sometimes doing backup vocals. It’s a joy to meet people who share this gift and want to create with you.”

Citing Burna Boy, J. Cole, 2Baba, and Sarz as key influences, he praised their ability to merge rhythm and meaning — qualities that continue to shape his evolving sound.

His latest single, “I Wan Know,” has been described as one of his most personal tracks yet, with more releases promised for the festive season.

“Just listen to I Wan Know and you’ll understand where I’m headed,” he teased.

Closing on a heartfelt note, Kerosene Level thanked fans for their growing support.
