Yinka Quadri Reacts to LASTMA Appointment, Pledges Commitment to Road Safety

Yinka Quadri LASTMA appointment sees the Nollywood actor pledge dedication to traffic management, road safety and public service in Lagos

Veteran Nollywood actor Yinka Quadri has expressed gratitude after his appointment as a Special Marshal for the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), describing the recognition as both an honour and a responsibility to serve.

Quadri spoke after his induction ceremony at LASTMA’s headquarters in Oshodi, Lagos, where he was officially decorated by the agency’s General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, and presented with his Special Marshal kit.

The actor thanked Lagos State Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, Commissioner for Transportation Oluwaseun Osiyemi and the LASTMA management for entrusting him with the role.

Quadri said the appointment represented more than public recognition, describing it as a renewed opportunity to contribute to road safety and traffic awareness in the state.

“This honour is not only a recognition of my commitment but also a call to serve with greater dedication, integrity, and passion in promoting traffic management, road safety, and public enlightenment across Lagos State,” he said.

The veteran actor also promised to uphold the confidence placed in him by the state government and LASTMA leadership.

“Thank you for this confidence. By the grace of God, I will strive to justify the trust reposed in me,” Quadri added.

The appointment adds a public service dimension to the actor’s long-standing career in Nollywood, where he has built a reputation as one of the industry’s respected figures.

LASTMA’s Special Marshal initiative involves individuals supporting public awareness efforts and promoting safer road practices, with the agency continuing to seek stronger engagement with residents across Lagos.
