In an interview with BBC News, the Grammy-winning dancehall star said that while some areas such as Kingston were spared the worst of the storm, the experience left his young children deeply shaken.

“It was very frightening, especially for my young kids. That’s the first time they’ve seen trees dance like that and the wind move like that,” he said.

“They’re still in shock and traumatised. And can you imagine the children who were in the epicentre of it? It feels like you’re in the Middle Ages.”

The Temperature hitmaker spoke emotionally about families in Montego Bay and other regions who lost homes and possessions, adding that friends of his had their roofs blown off.

“We weren’t hit in Kingston very hard, but it was frightening. You’re wondering, at any minute, is there going to be some tree that comes along and slaps your roof off? That happened to friends of mine in Montego Bay. They’ve lost their whole roof and are still in the trenches helping others.”

Sean Paul revealed that he plans to make a significant donation to assist victims of the disaster, supporting efforts to provide shelter, food, and clothing to displaced families.
