Bosch outperformed contestants from the Ivory Coast, the Philippines, Thailand, and Venezuela, among more than 120 participants in this year’s globally watched beauty pageant.

The week leading up to the final was turbulent. Earlier, Bosch walked out of a meeting after pageant organiser Nawat Itsaragrisil publicly reprimanded her for allegedly failing to post promotional content.

A livestream of the confrontation showed Nawat singling her out, prompting Bosch to later tell reporters, “What your director did is not respectful: he called me dumb.

The world needs to see this because we are empowered women and this is a platform for our voice.”

Bosch’s walkout, executed in an evening gown and heels, received support from Miss Iraq. Other contestants attempted to join, but Nawat instructed them to remain seated. The organiser subsequently issued an apology.

The incident drew praise from Mexico’s President, Claudia Sheinbaum, who described Bosch as “an example of how we women should speak out” when confronted with aggression.

Further controversy arose as two judges resigned, including French composer Omar Harfouch, who claimed the contest was manipulated through a “secret and illegitimate vote.”

The Miss Universe Organisation denied these allegations. Former footballer Claude Makelele also withdrew from judging, citing personal reasons.

The pageant faced additional challenges with contestant safety. During Wednesday’s costume round, Miss Britain Danielle Latimer tripped on stage, while Miss Jamaica Gabrielle Henry fell off the main stage during the evening gown segment and was taken to hospital.

She was later reported to be resting under medical observation with no serious injuries.
