Fake Flavour impersonation claims denied by performer

Fake Flavour impersonation claims denied as the performer insists his stage name is an homage to Flavour N’abania, not an attempt to deceive fans.

Fake Flavour impersonation controversy has been addressed by the entertainer himself, who insists his stage name is merely a tribute to Nigerian highlife star Flavour N’abania and not an act of deception.

In a recent interview, the performer popularly known as Fake Flavour said he has never pretended to be the real Flavour or used the name to defraud fans or event organisers.

“I’m not using Flavour’s name to scam people; I just love him,” he said. “People who book me know I’m doing my own thing.”

The Fake Flavour impersonation debate began after online discussions suggested that he might be exploiting the superstar’s identity for bookings. However, he clarified that his fanbase and clientele fully understand that he is a tribute performer, not an imitator posing as the original artist.

He revealed that his performance fees range from ₦700,000 to ₦800,000 — a figure he said makes the distinction clear, as “the real Flavour would never perform for that amount.”

“People who book me know I’m different, and I’m not pretending to be him to collect money,” he added.
