Ebenezer Obey alive— that’s the message the Nigerian juju music icon sent loud and clear on Monday, as he shut down social media rumours claiming he had passed away or suffered a stroke.

In a video shared on his Instagram, the 83-year-old legend appeared healthy and joyful, flanked by his two sons and singing in high spirits. The caption was direct: “Stop the rumours!!!! Ebenezer Obey is alive and well.”

The veteran musician described the false claims as “lies from the kingdom of darkness”, expressing disappointment over the disturbing spread of doctored images, including photoshopped coffins being circulated online.

Ebenezer Obey alive and in good health, he confirmed, adding that he had simply travelled to London for routine personal care — not due to illness. “I don’t have a stroke,” he stated firmly. “Everything they have said is nothing but lies. I am alive, I am alive, says the Lord Jesus Christ.”

This isn’t the first time Obey has had to refute such alarming reports. Similar death rumours emerged in 2020 and again earlier this year, which the music legend has repeatedly addressed.
