Bucci Franklin Reveals Struggles Growing Up Fatherless

Bucci Franklin, popular Nollywood actor, has opened up about the emotional challenges he faced growing up without his father or a father figure.

In a candid interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Franklin shared how the absence of a paternal presence deeply affected his teenage years.

The actor revealed that not having a father led him into early vices such as alcohol, cigarettes, and reckless behavior.

“I was into girls, drugs—by drugs, I mean cigarettes. Drinking beer at a very young age. Coming back home completely wasted,” Bucci Franklin said.

Despite the difficult journey, he expressed deep admiration for his mother, who raised him as a single parent while juggling work and household responsibilities.

“As a kid, I had my woman shege. It is not easy to be a single parent. My mum had to go to work,” he noted. “Maximum respect to women out there taking care of their children by themselves.”

Franklin emphasized the vital role of a father figure, especially in the life of a boy.

“You need a man in your life. If you do not want to get married, you need a brother to play that role,” he advised.

Remarkably, despite his father’s absence, Bucci Franklin says he has forgiven him and now sees him in a new light.

“My dad is good, but he was not in the picture. I see him now for the man he is, not the man he was. I have forgiven him,” he shared.
