Chiwetalu Agu Death Rumour has been firmly quashed by the veteran Nollywood actor himself, who appeared in a video on Friday to declare he is alive, well, and nowhere near the grave.

In a strongly worded statement shared on Instagram, the 68-year-old comic icon urged fans to ignore false claims about his supposed passing, blaming unscrupulous bloggers for the fabricated story.
“Fans and family, please disregard any rumours about my death, and kindly report the page of the blogger who started spreading them. I am very much alive by God’s grace,” he wrote.
Appearing in full health, Agu declared in the video:
“Chief Chiwetalu Agu, okenmiri n’ezoru Oha 1 of Etiti Amokwe, Enugu State is not going to die anytime soon. Instead, I will be the one to bury my enemies. Na who dig pit go fall inside. Na who dig grave go fall inside.”
He further added that he looks forward to meeting his grandchildren in good health, once his children are ready to start their own families.
Blasting the originators of the fake story, Agu noted that had a high-profile blogger carried the rumour, he would have pursued legal action for defamation and economic damage.
“What baffles me is that in this 21st century, 2025, a lot of people are still gullible to believe such things without confirming whether it is true or not,” he added.
The Chiwetalu Agu Death Rumour gained traction earlier this week after an obscure blog falsely reported the actor’s passing, sparking confusion and concern among fans and colleagues.
