Chidera Treasure Miss EBONY win marks her debut into pageantry. The 17-year-old beauty queen plans to use her crown to support orphanages in Nigeria

For Chidera-Treasure, winning the Miss E.B.O.N.Y Ambassador UK Innovative Pageant is more than a crown—it’s a call to action.

The 17-year-old beauty queen, born in Norway, raised in Germany, and now living in England, clinched the title in her first-ever pageant. Despite her inexperience, Chidera stood out with her unwavering confidence, which she credits for her unexpected victory.

“My mum was very much surprised… I believe she and my aunt cried out of joy,” Chidera shared, recalling her win. “My friends were supportive and thrilled after seeing my posts on social media.”

Chidera entered the competition at the urging of her dance organiser, who convinced her mother to let her apply just before the deadline. Although many contestants were more prepared, Chidera’s self-belief shone through.

Currently studying A’ Level subjects such as Economics, Business, and History, she aspires to earn a criminology degree with a focus on forensic psychology and eventually study law.

As Miss E.B.O.N.Y Ambassador UK, Chidera plans to focus her pet project on supporting orphanages in Nigeria. She has launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for this cause and hopes to use her social media platforms to maximise outreach.

“The short-term goal is raising funds for children in Nigerian orphanages. Long term, I want to use this platform to enter other pageants and opportunities in the beauty industry,” she said.

Looking ahead, she’s considering participating in Miss Nigeria UK, but for now, she is focused on making the most of her current title.

Founded by Irene Eribo Ani, the Miss E.B.O.N.Y Ambassador UK Innovative Pageant has, over the last decade, become a respected platform celebrating African excellence, cultural identity, and female empowerment.
