Nollywood actress and former reality TV star Beverly Osu has revealed that she once aspired to live a religious life in the convent and become a Reverend Sister before eventually transitioning into the Nigerian entertainment industry.

She made the disclosure during an appearance on the Creativtea Podcast on 22 June 2026.

Beverly Osu explained that her upbringing in Lagos State, Nigeria, significantly influenced her early ambitions and personal values.

She noted that she spent parts of her childhood in Surulere, Yaba and Ojuelegba, describing the experience as formative in shaping her outlook on life.

The actress also revealed that she attended the Daughters of Divine Love Juniorate in Enugu State, a Catholic institution that deepened her initial interest in religious life. According to her, the environment reinforced her belief at the time that she was destined to become a Reverend Sister.

“I was meant to be a Reverend Sister. I wanted to really be a Reverend Sister. Now, I am doing God’s work in other ways,” Beverly Osu said during the interview, reflecting on how her aspirations have evolved over time.

She added that her admiration for the discipline and appearance of Catholic priests and Reverend Sisters played a key role in her fascination with convent life.

She said her personal love for order and cleanliness made the lifestyle particularly appealing to her as a young girl.

“I love how they dress. Because I am meticulous and very neat, I just loved how clean the priests and Reverend Sisters were. Literally, that was it,” she added.

Her reflection has drawn attention from fans and followers, offering a more personal glimpse into her early life and the journey that eventually led her into acting and media.
