Nollywood actor Alesh Sanni has clarified the circumstances surrounding the death of his colleague Temitope Osoba, rejecting claims that the actress died of cancer and appealing for compassion towards her family and loved ones.

Sanni addressed the reports on Instagram on Tuesday, 5 August, following the announcement of Osoba’s passing and growing speculation about the cause of her death.

Alesh Sanni addressed the speculation surrounding Temitope Osoba’s passing after reports emerged online linking her death to cancer.

The actor urged the public to show sensitivity, avoid sharing unverified information and give her family and loved ones space to grieve.

“She didn’t die of cancer, please, and please let people grieve and post how they choose to,” Sanni wrote.

The actor, who described Osoba as a close colleague and friend, said her passing had left him deeply affected. He reflected on the memories they shared and expressed his sadness over losing someone he regarded as special.

In his tribute, Sanni described the late actress as “unique and different”, while acknowledging the pain of her sudden departure.

“You were so unique and different. Still like a movie, but I know you’re resting now because you fought so hard. I’ll forever miss you, my darling Temitope Omo Osoba,” he wrote.

The announcement of Osoba’s death had earlier prompted an outpouring of grief from colleagues and fans across Nollywood, with many paying tribute to her contributions to the Nigerian entertainment industry.
