Abidoye to Be Installed as Rotary District 9112 Governor

Rotarian Olayioye Abidoye is set to assume Abidoye Rotary leadership as District Governor of Rotary International District 9112 on 1 July 2026, opening with a pioneering digital State of the District Address

Rotarian Olayioye Abidoye will assume office as District Governor of Rotary International District 9112 on Wednesday 1 July 2026, marking the start of a new Rotary year for the district covering parts of Lagos and Ogun States.

In a notable innovation, Abidoye will deliver his maiden State of the District Address through a live digital broadcast at 10:00 a.m. on the same day, streamed simultaneously on YouTube, Facebook and TikTok, ensuring broad accessibility for Rotarians, partners and observers across Nigeria and beyond.

The incoming governor inherits a relatively young district, formed in July 2024 following the reorganisation of the former District 9110. He becomes only the third person to lead District 9112, succeeding pioneer governor Rotarian Femi Adenekan and outgoing governor Rotarian Lanre Adedoyin, whose tenure ends on 30 June 2026.

Abidoye, confirmed as District Governor-nominee in 2025, has already demonstrated structured leadership by convening the 2026 District Team Learning Seminar for incoming officers.

His emphasis on transparency and engagement is evident in the decision to open his governorship with a public digital address rather than a closed-door event.

District 9112 is co-hosting the West Africa Project Fair 2026 in November alongside District 9111, an important regional event where Abidoye is expected to play a central role. The fair will bring together Rotary leaders, development agencies and corporate partners to focus on water, education and healthcare initiatives.

Outgoing governor Rotarian Lanre Adedoyin had prioritised uniting hearts for meaningful service, with notable achievements including vocational training centres in Odomola, Epe and Ikorodu, a Prostate Cancer Centre in Sagamu and an Eye Centre in Ota.

Abidoye’s leadership arrives at a pivotal time for the district, with expectations that he will build on existing foundations while introducing fresh approaches to service and fellowship. His background and previous roles within Rotary suggest a commitment to practical impact and strategic growth.
