Nigerian reality TV star and entrepreneur Uriel Oputa has pushed back against criticism of her fashion choices on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, saying she will continue to dress as she pleases and focus on her wellbeing.

The former Big Brother Naija housemate addressed the criticism in a message shared on her Instagram story, making it clear that unsolicited opinions about her appearance would not dictate how she presents herself.

Uriel said she had seen the comments from critics but remained unfazed by the negativity surrounding her outfits. She instead encouraged those concerned about her appearance to pay greater attention to their own health and wellness.

Her response came in a firm but conversational tone, reflecting her decision to take ownership of her personal style rather than allow public opinion to influence her choices.

“I will continue to wear what I want, look how I want, and prioritize taking care of myself,” Uriel said.

She also pushed back against suggestions that her fashion choices were connected to receiving clothes from brands. According to her, she does not depend on complimentary clothing and has no interest in receiving unsolicited packages.

“No offense. With all due respect, I genuinely appreciate all the beautiful brands that reach out to me. But let me put this out there once and for all, I do not wear clothes for free,” she said.

Uriel added that she already has more clothes than she needs, joking that she would rather give some of them away than receive additional items.

“Please I do not want PR packages. I don’t want clothes sent to my house as gifts, and I don’t need free clothes,” she said.

The reality star has previously been outspoken about fashion and personal presentation.

In 2025, she confidently defended her appearance after the AMVCA Cultural Night, arguing that her outfit deserved recognition even though she arrived too late to be considered for the Best Dressed award.

Her latest comments continue that outspoken approach to fashion, with Uriel making it clear that personal confidence remains more important to her than satisfying critics.

For the reality star, the issue appears to go beyond a particular outfit. Her message was ultimately about personal choice, self-care and refusing to allow public criticism to dictate how she lives or presents herself.
