Uriel Oputa Advises Don Jazzy To Rethink Women He Dates

Uriel Oputa advises Don Jazzy to reconsider his views on commitment, suggesting he change the type of women he dates to find deeper relationship value

Nigerian reality TV star and media personality Uriel Oputa has shared her candid thoughts on Don Jazzy’s views about romantic relationships, urging him to rethink his approach to dating and commitment.

During a recent episode of the Outside The Box podcast, Uriel reacted to Don Jazzy’s public revelation that he finds it difficult to remain sexually committed to one woman.

The Mavin Records boss, known for his transparency about personal matters, had earlier stated that monogamy is not a lifestyle he is able to maintain.

Uriel, who rose to fame through the Big Brother Naija reality show and is known for her bold commentary on relationships and lifestyle issues, suggested that Don Jazzy’s perspective may be shaped by the kind of women he dates.

She believes that choosing partners based solely on physical appeal rather than emotional and intellectual compatibility could be a major reason for his stance.

In her words: “I love Don Jazzy, I love him like no other. He’s such an amazing person. But I feel like when he said that he’s unable to be sexually committed to one woman, it boils down to the type of women he goes for. If I see him, I will tell him to try a different type of women.”

Uriel went further to generalise the issue, linking Don Jazzy’s experience with a wider trend she believes is common among Nigerian men.

According to her, many men in the country fail to value substance in relationships, choosing instead to focus on surface-level attributes such as physical beauty.

“A lot of the men in Nigeria don’t date for substance. They date for what they see physically, on the outside. That translates to the majority of Nigerian men. They cannot stay with one woman because they don’t date for substance,” she said.

So, you’re dating for physique; of course, you’re going to see someone with a better physique because you’re not dating for what the woman really has.

Uriel explained that when men base their romantic choices solely on physical features, they inevitably find themselves dissatisfied, always chasing a better-looking partner rather than seeking genuine connection.

“So, you’re dating for physique; of course, you’re going to see someone with a better physique because you’re not dating for what the woman really has — her mindset.”

The conversation has sparked renewed debate online about commitment and what makes a healthy relationship, especially within the context of celebrity culture and the pressures of fame.

Some fans agreed with Uriel’s take, praising her for addressing what they see as a wider issue among Nigerian men.

Others, however, defended Don Jazzy, arguing that personal relationship choices should be respected as long as they are consensual and honest.

Uriel’s advice comes at a time when discussions about emotional maturity and commitment are gaining traction in Nigeria’s entertainment space, particularly as more celebrities open up about their struggles and philosophies on love and monogamy.

Her comments highlight a push for more introspection within relationships, challenging men to evaluate not just their preferences, but also their values.
